The United States face Canada at Allianz Field in St. Paul, Minnesota, on 6 October in the 43rd meeting between the neighbours.

It is an international friendly, a match that does not count for a tournament but does count for caps, momentum and places in the squad. The United States arrive after a 3-0 win over Mexico, sealed by a long-range chip from Cavan Sullivan, according to The Guardian.

Five players who started that Mexico win start again. Alex Freeman, Gio Reyna, Chris Richards, Malik Tillman and Auston Trusty all keep their places.

In goal is Brian Schwake. It is only his second appearance for the United States. He made his debut as a substitute against Chile.

What makes this stand out is how young the American attack looks. Mathis Albert has broken a decade-old benchmark held by Christian Pulisic to become the youngest goalscorer in USMNT history. Julian Hall, 18, arrived at this Canada game having scored in all three of his appearances so far.

That is a lot of trust in teenagers. It also gives casual viewers an easy way in. Watch the movement off the ball, the willingness to shoot early, and how the older heads find them.

Canada bring their own storylines. The team is coached by Jesse Marsch, an American coaching against his own country. Star full-back Alphonso Davies misses the game because he is on his honeymoon.

Up front, Promise David comes in for Jonathan David for Canada's Men's National Team. Canada closed its September-October international window with this trip to Minnesota, per Canada Soccer.

For fans, this means a proper regional rivalry without tournament pressure. Expect pace, pressing and plenty of rotation as both coaches look at depth.

The game is at Allianz Field, home of Minnesota United in Major League Soccer. The stadium listing has the event running from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. local time on 6 October, with a 5:00 p.m. PDT kick-off listed by U.S. Soccer.

In the United States the match airs and streams on TNT, truTV, HBO Max and Universo, according to MLSsoccer.com. The Guardian also published a live blog and a viewing guide for the game on 6 October.

The fixture rounds out a busy fall schedule for the U.S. The team lined up September friendlies against Peru and Chile before meeting Mexico and then Canada in October.

Forty-two meetings have come before. Number 43 is about the next wave.
