Josh Goldstine is set to run marketing and distribution for every cinema release from Warner Bros. and Paramount Pictures under Skydance.

The role will span Warner Bros., Paramount Pictures and any later film labels, with oversight of marketing and distribution across all theatrical film, meaning pictures made for cinemas, according to Variety. It puts one executive in charge of how films from the two studios are dated, booked into cinemas and sold to audiences. The combined organisation brings two of Hollywood's oldest studios under single ownership.

The move follows Paramount Skydance's completion of its $110 billion takeover of Warner Bros Discovery, reported by Reuters on 6 October 2026. The deal had faced a delay. A federal judge had ordered Paramount Skydance to pause the acquisition through 3 August after a legal challenge led by California and other states, Reuters reported in July.

Goldstine joined Paramount in October 2025 as president of worldwide marketing and distribution. He had previously served as president of worldwide marketing at Warner Bros. He departed in January 2025.

He joined Warner Bros. in January 2021 after a spell as president of worldwide marketing at Universal, a post he left in 2018, according to Deadline. At Warner Bros. he led the promotional campaign for Barbie, Variety reported in January 2025. He had been a Universal executive before joining Warner Bros.

His arrival at Paramount followed a change at the top of that department. Marc Weinstock exited as Paramount's worldwide marketing president in September 2025, according to Variety. Goldstine had been in talks to join Paramount as its global marketing and distribution chief that same month, Deadline reported. His appointment at Paramount had been rumoured since September 2025.

Since the merger closed, Goldstine has met Warner Bros. marketing executives Dana Nussbaum, Christian Davin and John Stanford. He also met Jeff Goldstein, president of global theatrical distribution, according to Variety.

The wider film leadership is also taking shape. Josh Greenstein and Dana Goldberg have been named co-chairs of the Skydance Motion Picture Group, the division overseeing both Warner Bros. and Paramount. Co-chairs means two people jointly heading the division. James Gunn and Peter Safran remain co-chairs of DC Studios, the unit behind films and series based on DC comics.

For cinemagoers, this means one hand on the calendar for two historic studios. One team. Two libraries. A full slate of cinema releases to organise.
