Ronaldo says Jesus broke word over eight points before Portugal exit

Cristiano Ronaldo says Portugal coach Jorge Jesus broke his word to him twice, and that is why he walked out of the national team camp.
In a statement on Tuesday, 6 October, Ronaldo said Jesus had agreed to make eight points about him at a press conference before Portugal's game in Denmark last week The Guardian. He said the list was settled after a video meeting held at the coach's request.
That call brought together Ronaldo, Jesus, his adviser Tiago Craveiro and Al-Nassr sporting director Simão Coutinho. Ronaldo said he approved the document afterwards and it was delivered to Jesus exactly as asked.
The eight notes did not ask Jesus to apologise to him, Ronaldo said. Instead, they stated that he had never demanded playing time and that he had respected the coach's decisions Reuters.
When Jesus did not make those points in public, Ronaldo called it the second broken promise. He said he decided to leave the camp without waiting for another.
His statement also addressed the night in Norway, when he warmed up extensively but was not brought on. Ronaldo linked that evening to his failure to salute Portugal's fans after the game.
The walkout followed a strange few days. Ronaldo had been named in Jesus's first 25-man squad as the new Portugal manager. Jesus then said there was no problem between them and that Ronaldo would take part in Wednesday's training session.
Ronaldo missed that training. Jesus and federation president Pedro Proença then failed in an airport bid to stop him leaving the camp.
Jesus has since said Ronaldo can return to the national team if he chooses Reuters.
For fans, this means an uneasy pause rather than a full stop. Portugal's record scorer has stepped away, the door is still open, and the next squad list will tell us plenty.
