The Beast locks Samuel L. Jackson inside the presidential limo

Samuel L. Jackson spends nearly all of The Beast locked inside a car.
The action film opens in the United States on Friday, Oct. 9, with Jackson playing the U.S. president trapped in his armoured limousine, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It is rated R, which restricts admission for younger viewers without an adult, and runs 1 hour 39 minutes.
Joel Kinnaman co-stars as Secret Service Agent Taft, alongside Guy Burnet. The film is directed by Renny Harlin from a screenplay by Umair Aleem.
Almost the entire story takes place inside the Beast. That is the nickname for the president's heavily protected official vehicle.
The set-up reunites Jackson with Harlin, as noted by Variety. Harlin's earlier action credits include Die Hard 2 and Cliffhanger. Jackson has played a besieged president before, in Big Game.
Behind the screen, Aura Entertainment acquired U.S. distribution rights, meaning it is handling the film's cinema release in America, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. Production was already underway in Spain in November 2024, according to Deadline.
Harlin has called the project a "really unusual movie" in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. In the same interview, he said the film could lift Kinnaman's career to another level.
For viewers, the draw is simple. One car. Two men. Nowhere to go.
