Veteran Indian actor Nana Patekar died at his residence in Goa on Oct. 8. He was 75, Variety reported.

He went into cardiac arrest at home, according to news agency ANI. He was declared dead at 5:20 a.m. local time. The death occurred on Thursday morning, the Hindustan Times reported.

Patekar was found unconscious at his home in Goa, Mid-day reported. The home is in Dona Paula, Goa, according to The Times of India. He was found around 5:20 a.m. and was then rushed to hospital, the same report said.

Doctors attempted resuscitation for an extended period. Despite 45 minutes of continuous CPR, he could not be revived, Dr. Shekhar Salkar said via ANI.

Patekar worked across Hindi cinema for decades. He played a crime lord in the 1989 film Parinda. He starred in the 1994 film Krantiveer.
