Baywatch Reboot Leads Scripted Picks Headed to MIPCOM

A revamped Baywatch is set to chase international buyers at MIPCOM Cannes next week.
Deadline has included the reboot in day two of its Deadline Dozen, devoted to scripted titles. The publication describes the Dozen as an editorially researched selection expected to drive chatter on the Croisette and beyond, according to Deadline.
MIPCOM Cannes 2026 runs 12-15 October at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, according to MIPCOM. It is the annual market where studios sell finished shows and new projects to broadcasters and streamers around the world.
The new Baywatch runs to 12 x 60 minutes, meaning twelve hour-long episodes. It comes from producers Fremantle and Fox Entertainment for Fox in the United States and Prime Video in various territories. Deadline reports the series is being remade and shopped to further buyers at MIPCOM.
Stephen Amell leads the cast as Hobie Buchannon. He is joined by Jessica Belkin as Charlie Vale, Shay Mitchell as Trina, Hassie Harrison as Nat, Thaddeus LaGrone as Brad, Noah Beck as Luke and Brooks Nader as Selene.
Matt Nix is showrunner, the person in charge of day-to-day creative decisions. Original Baywatch creators Michael Berk, Greg Bonann and Doug Schwartz return as executive producers alongside Dante Di Loreto and Mike Horowitz. McG is also an executive producer and directs the series premiere.
The sales split is already set in part. Fox holds domestic rights in the US, while Fremantle is selling the show abroad and has already closed deals in key Prime Video territories.
The second Fox-bound title in the selection is The Interrogator from Lionsgate. It is also 12 x 60 minutes, from Lionsgate Television and Fox Entertainment Studios for Fox in the US.
The series centres on former MI6 agent Conrad Henry, played by Stephen Fry. It secured a straight-to-series order in February, meaning no pilot was shot first, for the 2026/27 US broadcast season. Dan Dworkin and Jay Beattie are showrunners. The cast also includes Jenna Elfman, Michael Beach, Jessica Sula, Maria Zhang and Luke Kleintank.
For fans, this means waiting for a transmission date. Sales first. Screens later.
