Ghost of Tsushima Legends Anime Set for 2028 With New Staff Revealed

Ghost of Tsushima: Legends will now reach screens in 2028.

The news came out of the Crunchyroll Showcase at New York Comic Con 2026. The showcase carried fresh staff and cast announcements for the series. The project is in active production.
HAYATE Inc. is producing the series in collaboration with PlayStation Productions. That pairing links a Japanese animation producer with PlayStation’s film and television arm. HAYATE Inc
Mizuno directs the series. He previously directed “The Duel”, an episode of Star Wars: Visions. Animation is by Kamikaze Douga, the Tokyo studio known for stylised CG work.
Story composition, the overall plotting and structure across the series, is by Gen Urobuchi. The script is co-written by Urobuchi and Renji Oki. Crunchyroll
Two cast members were named in the latest announcement. Mayumi Saco and Shinya Fukumatsu join the voice cast. No character details were given.
The sound and music team was also set out. Keiji Inai handles music. Yoshikazu Iwanami serves as sound director, overseeing dialogue and mix, with Yasumasa Koyama on sound effects. Gyousyou Suzuki handles title calligraphy.
What makes this stand out is the mix of credits. It brings together a games-backed production, a director with a striking short-film record, and a writer with long experience in dark fantasy and science fiction. For viewers, the 2028 date gives a clear marker while work continues.
