Ignacio “Nacho” Meyer is stepping down from his senior post at TelevisaUnivision after nearly 15 years with the company.

The move was shared with staff in an internal memo, reported by Billboard on 9 October 2026. His most recent title was president of U.S. networks and local media.

He will not cut ties completely. Meyer will continue to work closely with TelevisaUnivision long term, designing and implementing strategic projects.

In the short term, he stays close to two on-air properties. He remains involved with the upcoming Latin Grammys, scheduled to air on 12 November. He will also helm the launch of Don Francisco’s new interview series, slated to debut this autumn.

Meyer was named president in 2022. TelevisaUnivision confirmed his appointment as President of U.S. Networks on 12 September that year, according to a company announcement. At that point he had already spent more than 10 years at Univision.

His remit grew after that. It later expanded to include radio and streaming networks alongside television and local media.

He knew the building well. Meyer started out in Univision’s music and special events team. He later led the Music and Non-Scripted Entertainment division, the unit responsible for live music shows and entertainment formats made without a script.

That path gave him a front-row seat to the company’s music output. As president, he was charged with driving its expansion and transformation strategy, as noted in a Billboard Español profile. He took the top job after Univision had been without formal leadership for three months.

What makes this stand out is continuity. Exits at this level often mean a clean break. Here Meyer keeps a hand in flagship programmes while he develops what comes next for the Spanish-language broadcaster.
