Freida McFadden announces The Sleepwalker for March 2027

Freida McFadden has named her next book The Sleepwalker.
Sourcebooks, her publisher, will publish it on 23 March 2027. The title, date and sales figure were announced on 9 October, according to Publishers Marketplace.
The announcement paired the new title with a running total for her work so far. Sourcebooks said McFadden's 29 books have crossed 90 million copies sold worldwide across all formats. All formats, in publishing language, means print, e-book and audio counted together rather than one edition on its own.
That total reflects a very full release schedule. In January, McFadden had six books lined up for 2026. That 2026 slate included Want to Know a Secret? in March, according to Publishers Weekly. A dated slate of that kind sets the order in which finished manuscripts move through editing, cover design, printing and distribution before they reach shops.
The new book extends that schedule into next year. A publication date, also called the on-sale date, is the day bookshops and online retailers can start selling a title. The 23 March 2027 date gives sellers, libraries and readers about five months to plan from the October announcement.
McFadden writes alongside a medical career. She is a physician who lives in Boston with her family, according to her Sourcebooks author page. Her books are issued through Sourcebooks, which handles publication and keeps her earlier titles in print while new ones arrive.
For fans, this means the wait is clearly marked. The March 2026 release is already out. The March 2027 release now has a name and a day. What makes this stand out is the steadiness of it. New titles keep arriving at short intervals, and the older ones keep selling beside them. Readers can pick up the latest book without losing track of the rest of the shelf.
