Rangers go top as Naderi double sinks Kilmarnock

Rangers beat Kilmarnock 3-1 at Ibrox to move top of the Scottish Premiership, the top flight in Scotland.
It was done by half-time. Ryan Naderi headed in twice and Kevin Kelsy struck in between to make it 3-0 at the break. Kilmarnock substitute Nicky Clescenco pulled one back with a last-minute counterattack, as reported by The Guardian.
It was a sixth league win in a row for Rangers. They moved a point ahead of Celtic, who were due to face Motherwell on Sunday 11 October. Manager Derek McInnes had trusted his returning internationals, starting eight of the 13 Rangers players who had been away on duty.
Hearts kept pace in style. They thrashed St Mirren 5-0 at Tynecastle Park on Saturday 10 October 2026.
Laurent Mendy opened the scoring in the 20th minute. Calvin Miller then scored two penalties, a free shot from 12 yards after a foul in the box, one either side of half-time. Cláudio Braga and Josh McPake added the other goals to complete the rout.
That was Hearts' biggest league win at home since a 6-1 victory over Ross County in April 2023. The result left Hearts third and as the league's top scorers.
Elsewhere, Dundee beat Falkirk 2-1 with a stoppage-time winner from Ashley Hay. Jacob Murrell had put Falkirk ahead from the penalty spot in the first half before Owen Bevan levelled. Hibernian lost 1-0 to Dundee United at Tannadice in Marink Reedijk's first game as Hibernian manager, according to The Guardian.
For fans, this means a title race with real noise around it. Rangers have the lead. Celtic have the game in hand. And Hearts are scoring freely just behind them.
