GTA 6 leaker threatens full build release in physical-disc dispute

A group calling itself Cyberleek has threatened to publish a working build of Grand Theft Auto 6, described as offering the “full story mode, played to the end, credits and all”.
The threat was reported on 11 October 2026, with the release tied to the group’s cryptocurrency reaching a 30 million market cap. Market cap here means the total value of all coins in circulation. The group is also demanding “physical disks and a public apology” from Take-Two as its “one way out”, according to Video Games Chronicle.
Cyberleek has been uploading unauthorised clips of the game for nearly two months. That run included posts made ahead of Rockstar’s official Netflix reveal. Its most recent upload added 25 minutes of new footage in the week to 11 October 2026.
The price is clear. The demand is simple. Alongside the leaks, the group has been promoting a crypto scheme. It has tied promotion for the coin to Lucia, one of the game’s lead characters, including her in-game clothing, according to IGN.
Cyberleek previously said the leaks were a protest over Rockstar selling digital pre-orders for GTA 6 without offering a physical version. Rockstar announced that pre-orders would begin on 25 June 2026. It also announced a Physical (Code-in-Box) version would be available starting 12 November 2026.
That boxed version does not include a disc. It contains a download code inside the box to support pre-load on 12 November, which means downloading the game files before launch day. The support page for the game states that a physical version of the Grand Theft Auto VI: Ultimate Edition is not available, according to Rockstar.
Take-Two has responded with legal action aimed at identifying the source. The company has filed multiple subpoenas to Discord, a chat platform, seeking information on specific servers and users. A subpoena is a court order that requires a company to hand over information. Take-Two withdrew an earlier subpoena request that sought information from YouTube about three accounts linked to a leaked video.
For fans, this means spoilers are circulating well ahead of launch. Clips and claims from unauthorised sources can be incomplete, altered or taken out of context, and a so-called playable build shared outside official stores carries no guarantee about what it contains.
