Crystal Palace fight back to beat Forest and spoil Glasner's return

Crystal Palace came from behind to beat Nottingham Forest 3-1 at Selhurst Park on Sunday, 11 October. It was fast, loud and decisive. It was also Palace's first home Premier League win of the season, Crystal Palace.
The game kicked off at 14:00 BST in south London as part of the 2026/27 Premier League calendar. All eyes were on the away dugout before a ball was kicked. The noise built early and never really dropped.
Oliver Glasner was back. The Nottingham Forest manager faced Palace at Selhurst for the first time since leaving the club, The Independent. He had previewed the trip at a press conference on Friday, 9 October. Forest gave him the perfect start with an early lead before Palace hit back, BBC Sport.
Then Palace took over and the game turned in a rush. Daichi Kamada made it 1-1 in the 41st minute. Jefferson Lerma struck in the 45th minute to put Palace 2-1 up at the break. Yeremy Pino added the third in the 59th minute, The Guardian.
Three goals in 18 minutes. Three different scorers. Forest led first and then could not live with the response. Palace went from behind to two goals clear with room to spare.
The home crowd loved the storyline and let Glasner hear it. Palace fans taunted him with chants of "You're getting sacked in the morning" during the second half, The Telegraph. It rang around Selhurst as Palace pushed for more. He stood through it on the touchline where he once celebrated.
Palace had wanted this one for a while. The club spoke before the weekend about ending a poor run against Forest. That gave the fixture an extra edge beyond three points. The players answered it after going behind.
BBC Sport carried video of Glasner's reaction after the defeat to his former club. He knew this ground well. He left it this time with nothing to show for the return.
What makes this stand out is how completely the mood swung. Palace were behind and restless. Then came two goals before half-time to flip the afternoon. For fans, this means a first home win banked and a story to tell, strangers hugging at the goals and a whole stand singing at an old friend.
