Isabelle Huppert tells Busan that AI has not replaced her yet

Isabelle Huppert says artificial intelligence has not pushed her out of a job. Not yet, anyway.
Speaking at the Busan International Film Festival, the French actor said she had felt no threat from AI in her own acting work so far, according to Variety. Asked whether AI could wipe out acting jobs, she answered simply: "It really is me acting."
She added: "So far I've seen that it's still my face on screen, and I hope that continues." It was a short answer. It drew a laugh.
Huppert was in Busan for Marc Fitoussi's comedy "All About Corinne," which is screening in the festival's Gala Presentation section, a sidebar for high-profile new films. She put the AI anxiety in perspective. People once feared cinemas would vanish, she said, just as people feared records would die before vinyl found a new audience.
There was a lighter moment too. Huppert joked about her Korean: "I didn't know I spoke Korean. I just know how to say 'annyeonghaseyo' [hello]."
"All About Corinne" premiered at Locarno before arriving in Korea. Huppert plays Corinne Maclou, a veteran extra — a performer hired to fill out background scenes — who finally steps into the spotlight. The film also stars Sandrine Kibelain and Diane Kruger, according to BIFF, and it will open in South Korea next spring.
The Busan festival, which runs from 6 to 15 October 2026, organised an Open Talk around the visit titled "When Legendary Isabelle Huppert Meets Joyful Director Marc Fitoussi." The session with Huppert and Fitoussi was scheduled for 13 October from 17:00 to 17:50 at the Busan Cinema Center Roof Theater.
Huppert also looked ahead. She confirmed in Busan that she will appear in a film by Italian director Dario Argento, expected sometime next year, according to Variety.
What makes this stand out is the tone. For fans worried about digital doubles and synthetic performances, Huppert treated the technology as something to watch, not panic over, while pointing to her own face on screen as the evidence.
