Mog the Forgetful Cat is going back on stage in a new UK tour in 2027.

Miranda Larson has written and adapted the story for the stage. Eamonn O’Dwyer has composed the music. Christopher Haydon, artistic director of the Rose Theatre, will direct.
The production will use puppetry and music to tell Mog’s story. Oli Townsend is set and costume designer.
Kingston is the starting point. The tour then visits Chesterfield, Derby, Stockton-on-Tees, Grimsby, Winchester, Newport, Eastbourne, Bristol, Southend, York, Sheffield, Bishop’s Stortford, Belfast, Radlett, Poole, Liverpool, Edinburgh, Dorking, Swindon, Truro, Guildford and Jersey.
There is also a London stop. The show will play the Unicorn Theatre from 13 July to 8 August.
In Sheffield, the dates are already on sale. Mog The Forgetful Cat will play Sheffield Theatres on 9-10 April 2027. The run lasts about an hour. Age guidance is 3+. Sheffield Theatres
The producer is Nicoll Entertainment. The company’s stage version of another Kerr book, The Tiger Who Came to Tea, received an Olivier Award nomination. The Olivier Awards are run by the Society of London Theatre to honour London theatre.
Nicoll has worked with the Rose and the Unicorn before on The Lion Inside and The Koala Who Could.
For families, this means a short, daytime-friendly show built for first-time theatregoers. No interval, small-person age guidance, and venues close to home rather than only London.
