Robyn and Mechatok swap songs for joint remix single

Robyn and German producer Mechatok have released remixes of each other's songs as a joint two-track single. The pair confirmed the release on 13 October, pairing Robyn's vocal turn on Mechatok's "Expression on Your Face" with Mechatok's rework of Robyn's "Fembot" Pitchfork. The release is organised through Robyn's Konichiwa label and Universal-Island under exclusive licence to Young.
Robyn adds a new verse and chorus to "Expression on Your Face." The song was the launch track for Wide Awake, Mechatok's debut album, meaning his first full-length album, and features guest vocals from Ecco2k and Bladee. Her remix keeps both guests in place and builds her part around theirs. She has already been performing the version with the added verse at recent shows.
The swap runs both ways. Mechatok takes on "Fembot," the Robyn song that originally appeared on Body Talk, her 2010 album Stereogum. His version is a remix, an alternate production of the same song made for clubs and live sets. Robyn has been using that remix as her set opener on Sexistential tour dates.
The track listing puts "Expression On Your Face (Robyn Remix)" featuring Ecco2K and Bladee as track 01 Instagram. The second track is the Mechatok remix of "Fembot." A remix single is a short release built around alternate versions rather than new album material, a common way for artists to share a collaboration between larger projects.
Mechatok first put out "Expression on Your Face" as a single in June 2025, with the song and video arriving on 12 June. The video was directed by Anton Tammi, as credited by Mechatok on its release. The single artwork was credited to Olth Creative Freedom.
What makes this stand out is the live link. Fans at Sexistential dates have already heard both reworks in the room. For those listeners, this release gives those moments a home version. For everyone else, it is a simple entry point: two artists, two songs, each hearing something new in the other's work.
