GTA 6 PC Release Reportedly Set for Early 2027, Months After Consoles

Grand Theft Auto 6 is reportedly coming to PC in the first quarter of 2027.
Engadget reported the window on October 13, 2026, citing GamesBeat's sources. That would place the PC release a few months after the console debut.
Rockstar Games lists November 19, 2026 as the launch date for Grand Theft Auto VI on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Rockstar Games confirms the November 19, 2026 date in its own announcement. The physical version is expected for shipping and store pickup starting November 12, according to support pages published August 18. Rockstar Games
There will be no PC version on day one with the November console release. IGN reported on May 4 that Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has spoken publicly about why Grand Theft Auto 6 is not coming to PC on day one.
The November date is the third public schedule. Take-Two Interactive had said Fall 2025 was expected. Take-Two Interactive Rockstar Games then announced May 26, 2026, which Take-Two said falls in Fiscal Year 2027. Rockstar Games That May date was later replaced by November 19, 2026.
Take-Two ties its near-term forecast to that launch. It repeated its Fiscal 2027 Net Bookings outlook, a sales measure, of $8.0 billion to $8.2 billion with the November 19 launch. Take-Two Interactive It also said Fiscal 2027 will set new record levels of operating performance because of the November 19 launch. Take-Two Interactive
For comparison, Grand Theft Auto 5 launched on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on September 17, 2013, and reached PC in April 2015, about 19 months later. A move from November to the early months of next year would be shorter.
The broader context here is familiar to PC owners. Consoles give two fixed machines to test. PCs do not. The mix of graphics cards (GPUs), processors (CPUs), drivers, screens and controls is wider, like cooking in every kitchen instead of one, and checking that range takes longer to keep play stable at different settings.
Looking at what this means for buyers and builders, an early-2027 window helps even as a report, not a confirmed date. Console players have November certainty. PC players have a time frame for hardware and backlog plans. Shops have a physical date just before the main launch. That does not remove normal risk for large open-world games, where final polish and certification can still move dates, as this project has shown.
In my view, the hopeful part is the shorter gap. Months rather than well over a year points to PC work running with console finishing, not after it. The PC is where frame rates, resolution, accessories and long-term modding stay with the user, and where the game will likely live longest.
