Black List Names Six Projects for 2026 Writers Lab

The Black List has picked six projects for its 2026 Writers Lab.
The selection was reported by Deadline on 13 October 2026. The programme is now in its 13th year.
The chosen writers and titles are Elton de Almeida with A Mark of Kin, Yasmin DeWinter with Guillaume and Scott Leddy with Nightwatch. Each project earns its writer a place in the Lab’s development programme for promising, non-professional writers, according to The Black List.
The remaining places go to Marcelle Pallais with One Last Summer, Alexander Seltzer and Kyle Jutkiewicz with Depths, and Emma Taylor Stock with Denial. Seltzer and Jutkiewicz are writing as a team.
The Lab centres on a weeklong workshop in Ojai, California. The 2026 group will gather there in mid-October for sessions on craft and career.
Five mentors return for this edition. They are Travis Braun, Stephany Folsom, Katie Silberman, Victoria Strouse and Christina Hodson.
Savion Einstein joins as a session mentor. The Lab brings working screenwriters together with the new intake to develop scripts and talk through the business.
What makes this stand out for early-career writers is access. The week mixes writing time with one-to-one guidance, rather than lectures alone.
More Black List news is coming soon. The line-up for the separate Projects Lab will be announced in November.
Submissions for the 2027 Black List Labs are now open.
