Erin Walsh to lead Rebecca Taylor for spring 2027

Celebrity stylist Erin Walsh has been named creative director of Rebecca Taylor's spring 2027 collection.
The position is a limited, collection-specific creative partnership that starts with that season, WWD reported. It is not described as a permanent appointment. It applies to one collection at this stage.
Walsh will contribute across collection development, campaign concepts, styling, brand imagery and creative storytelling. A creative director, the person who sets the visual direction for a range and how it is presented, typically works across both areas. Here the brief includes the development of the clothes and the concepts behind them. It also includes styling the looks, shaping the brand imagery and guiding the creative storytelling around the season.
Walsh works as a celebrity stylist, choosing outfits for public appearances, photography and press activity. Her styling clients include Anne Hathaway, Selena Gomez, Mindy Kaling and Ariana DeBose. Those names are familiar from film, television and music, and from red-carpet coverage. The listing gives a public measure of the taste and contacts she brings to the label.
Rebecca Taylor, the fashion label, is owned by the New York-based Ramani Group. The group purchased the Rebecca Taylor intellectual property and brand from Vince Holding Corp., the US apparel company, in December 2022. Intellectual property in this context means the legal rights to the name and associated designs. The December 2022 date places the change of ownership almost four years before the spring 2027 project.
The label now operates primarily direct-to-consumer, which means selling straight to shoppers rather than through department stores or other wholesale accounts. Wholesale is selling to shops that resell, as against direct-to-consumer. Online business accounts for 60 to 70 percent of the business, with its TriBeCa freestanding store accounting for 30 percent. A freestanding store is a shop operated by the label itself. The figures describe a small, tightly controlled retail footprint.
Devyani Ramani serves as chief operating officer and chief merchandising officer. The operations title covers the day-to-day running of the business. The merchandising title covers the planning, range-building and buying behind the collections.
For people following the label, this means a focused experiment to watch. Walsh arrives with close experience of what photographs well and what public figures ask for. Spring 2027 will show how that knowledge translates into a full collection, from development to campaign.
