Australia beat Bangladesh by eight wickets in the third one-day international in Brisbane to complete a 3-0 series sweep.

Set 173 to win at Allan Border Field, Australia raced home inside 23 overs. A one-day international gives each side 50 overs. Australia needed less than half of them. The Guardian

Megan Schutt set it up. The seamer took 4-16 from 10 overs bowled straight through, including 53 dot balls, deliveries with no run scored. She was named player of the match and player of the series after taking 10 wickets at an average of 7.1 across the three games.

Bangladesh were asked to bat first and were bowled out for 172. Shorna Akter made 54 off 71 balls, her highest score in ODIs, and Shramin Akhter added 50. Schutt now has 28 wickets in 14 ODIs at Allan Border Field, the most by any bowler at the ground.

The chase had an early wobble. Georgia Voll fell for 11. Beth Mooney made 21 in her 100th ODI before falling to debutant quick Disha Biswas, who struck with only her second delivery in ODI cricket.

Then came calm. Ellyse Perry finished 65 not out off 64 balls. Annabel Sutherland was 74 not out off 52. The pair added 137 for the third wicket to close the game with ease.

Australia were without Phoebe Litchfield, who missed the match with a low-grade hip strain and was replaced by Nicola Carey. Litchfield had made 77 and 70 in the first two matches of the series.

Those earlier wins had been just as clear. Australia won the opener by seven wickets and the second by nine wickets, with Voll striking an unbeaten 131 in that second game. ICC

What makes this stand out is the balance. Schutt squeezed with the new ball. Sutherland and Perry finished with pace. Bangladesh had moments through Shorna and Shramin, plus a debut wicket to remember for Biswas, but never enough runs to make Australia pause.
