Rachel Nichols to host weekday mornings for Sports Illustrated

Rachel Nichols will host a new weekday morning programme for Sports Illustrated.
The programme is called 'The Story with Rachel Nichols'. It starts Monday, October 19. It will stream weekdays at 9 a.m., according to Variety. The announcement was reported on 14 October, which puts the debut five days later.
Viewers will find it first on SI TV. Episodes will then re-air several times during the day. That repeat pattern, meaning the same episode plays again later, is designed for people who miss the live hour. The show will also stream on SI.com. It will also be available on Sports Illustrated's YouTube channel.
SI TV is a FAST channel, meaning a free streaming channel that runs adverts instead of asking for a subscription. It launched in January this year. It does not sit behind cable. It is carried on Xumo Play, Amazon Fire TV, The Roku Channel and DIRECTV, so viewers can pick it up through those apps and services.
Nichols is not leaving her other jobs to take the slot. She is a regular at Fox Sports and Monumental Sports Network. She will continue as a host and analyst at Fox Sports, meaning she will present coverage and discuss games on air. She will also stay on as a host at Monumental Sports Network. At Sports Illustrated, she will keep co-hosting the 'Open Floor' podcast with Chris Mannix alongside the daily show.
The new programme sits inside the current Sports Illustrated structure. The brand is now part of Authentic Brands Group. Its publishing operations are overseen by Minute Media, meaning that company handles day-to-day publishing. Stephen Cannella serves as editor in chief.
Nichols previously hosted 'The Jump', ESPN's weekday programme built around the NBA. ESPN later cancelled that programme. ESPN also removed her from its NBA programming in August 2021, as reported by FOX 2 Now. That history explains why a new daily slot is notable for her viewers.
For fans, this means a fixed morning appointment. One presenter across streaming television, website, YouTube and podcast. Weekdays at nine, with repeats through the day if you miss the first play.
