Big Walk is staying off Xbox, and its maker says the reason is political. No Xbox version is planned.

House House, the developer of the co-operative puzzle game — played in groups working together to solve puzzles — said the ongoing BDS boycott is the core reason for the absence, Eurogamer reported. The studio set out its position in a statement posted via its official X account on 15 October 2026, House House on X.

The studio said it would love people to be able to play Big Walk on Xbox. That will not happen until Microsoft and/or Xbox are removed as BDS boycott targets.

House House said the choice cuts against its own aim for the game. Big Walk was made to be played by groups of friends, and keeping it off one major console runs counter to that intention.

It added that some people will miss out on playing with friends because of the decision. The studio said it understands and shares that disappointment.

BDS, short for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions, is an organised campaign that publishes a list of boycott targets. That list includes Disney, Intel and Xbox.

BDS lists Xbox as a target over what it describes as Microsoft's partnership with Israel and its prison system, including provision of Azure Cloud and AI systems. The campaign has urged people to cancel Game Pass subscriptions, boycott Call of Duty and Candy Crush, and stop buying Microsoft gaming products.

Big Walk was released on 4 August and sold more than one million copies in under a week. It is listed as available on Nintendo Switch 2, PS5 and home computers, according to House House.

Its publisher, Panic, describes the game as "Hang out and get lost with close friends in a big world," on its Published by Panic page. Panic lists Big Walk by House House among its titles.

The Xbox absence is a break from the studio's past releases. House House lists Untitled Goose Game as available on Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One and home computers. It lists Push Me Pull You, its first game, as available on PS4 and home computers.

For players, this means Xbox owners are left out of a fast-selling co-op hit for now. Friends on other systems can team up, while those on Xbox cannot join in unless the boycott status changes.
