Six drivers, one desert and 5,000 kilometres of road.

Streamer Vedal987, the creator of AI VTubers Neuro-Sama and her twin Evil, kicked off a marathon run of The Long Drive on 12 October with Neuro, Evil, KokoNuts, Camila and Crelly, GameSpot reported.

A VTuber is a streamer who performs as an animated character rather than appearing on camera. In this case the two headliners are AI VTubers, characters whose chat and reactions are generated live by software. That mix of human players and software-driven personalities is what gives the run its unusual energy.

Each participant is streaming their own perspective. Vedal's channel switches between Neuro, Evil and himself, so viewers can follow the group together or stick with one driver's view of the trip.

The game itself is built for this kind of slow chaos. The Long Drive is an open-world driving and survival game set in a procedurally generated desert, meaning the landscape is built by code rather than hand-designed. Players scavenge for supplies, patch up their cars, watch their fuel and try to keep moving while the journey wears them down.

The destination sits about 5,000km away. Drive it in the game and it takes as long as driving 5,000km in real life.

That is the whole challenge. Fuel runs out. Cars break down. People get lost.

For viewers catching up, the run is being archived as it goes. Vedal987 published a Twitch video on demand, a replay saved after a live broadcast, titled "THE LONG DRIVE MARATHON DAY 1" on 13 October, according to Twitch. Listings for "THE LONG DRIVE MARATHON DAY 2" and "THE LONG DRIVE MARATHON DAY 3" have also appeared on the same channel, which is branded around "neuro-sama the ai vtuber".

What makes this stand out is the travelling party. Long co-op streams often rely on speed or skill. This one relies on endurance, banter and two AI companions who do not get tired in quite the same way humans do.
