Trump had previously said he approved of showing the execution online. He said he "absolutely" approved livestream plans but said the Pentagon was still making a determination on it. Trump said the families of Hasan's victims can view the execution in person.
US Vice-President JD Vance had cast doubt on whether the livestream would happen. Vance said he would not watch it.
Hasan fatally shot 13 unarmed US soldiers at a military base in Texas in 2009 and injured 32 others.
