Hudson Williams, Zach Galifianakis and Jay Baruchel join CBC's The Assembly for Season 2
Hudson Williams, Zach Galifianakis and Jay Baruchel will take the hot seat on Season 2 of CBC's The Assembly.
They join a six-part series built around an ask-anything celebrity interview, led by autistic and neurodivergent interviewers who set the questions. The new cast was reported by Deadline.
Williams is the breakout from Heated Rivalry. Galifianakis is known for The Hangover films, and Baruchel for How to Train Your Dragon and This Is the End.
The rest of the line-up spans sport, pageantry and pop. Hockey star Marie-Philip Poulin, actor and former Miss Universe Canada Ashley Callingbull, and singer-songwriter Lights will also appear as guests.
The format is simple. A panel of interviewers meets one famous guest at a time. Nothing is off limits, and the conversation goes where the panel takes it.
Season 2 premieres on CBC TV, the broadcaster's main channel, and CBC Gem, its streaming service, on Sunday, November 1 at 9 p.m. ET, or 9:30 p.m. in Newfoundland and Labrador. Longer versions, billed as Producer's Cuts, will drop on CBC Gem earlier the same day from 9 a.m. ET.
The series started life in France on France Télévisions as Les Rencontres du Papotin. In Canada it is made for CBC by Small Army Entertainment.
For viewers, this means two ways to watch. Catch the longer cut in the morning, then the broadcast edit in prime time.
