Paramount+ has released the first teaser for Frisco King, the Tulsa King spinoff starring Samuel L. Jackson. The series will premiere on 18 December with two episodes, then release new episodes every Friday, as reported by Deadline. It is a spinoff, meaning a new show built around a character first seen in another series, from Taylor Sheridan.

Jackson plays Russell Lee Washington Jr. The character was introduced in Season 3 of Tulsa King, which premiered in September on Paramount+. Jackson made his first appearance in that universe in episode nine, titled “Dead Weight.” That short gap puts Russell at the centre of a fast expansion.

Taylor Sheridan wrote the entire season himself. That is rare in American television, where scripts are usually shared across a writers’ room, meaning a team of writers dividing episodes. Season 1 will run for eight episodes, according to Paramount+. A two-episode launch followed by weekly drops gives the show a seven-week run in the schedules.

The supporting cast includes Asa Germann, Kai Caster, Lilah Pate and Savanna Gann. Sylvester Stallone is also confirmed for a special appearance, meaning a billed guest role rather than a full-time return. Christina Alexandra Voros directed the pilot, meaning the opening episode that sets the visual tone. The series is produced by Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios.

Paramount lists Frisco King as Season 1 streaming on Paramount+. Official teaser viewing and download assets are hosted on Paramount Press Express. The schedule is organised for momentum. Tulsa King returned in September. Its offshoot follows in December.

Weekly releases remain the standard for big streaming dramas. They keep one show in the listings for almost two months. A double-episode opening is common too. It gives new viewers more story to start with, while holding back the rest for the weekly rhythm. All episodes will stream only on Paramount+.

What makes this stand out is speed and simplicity. One writer across eight episodes. A character introduced in autumn leading his own show by winter. For viewers, this means no long wait to see where Russell goes next. Tune in on 18 December for the double-episode start, then Fridays.
