Shahrazad, Sinbad, Aladdin and Ali Baba are teaming up for television.

Arabian Nights is a planned 10-episode epic fantasy series aiming to roll cameras in 2027, according to Variety. Veritas Entertainment will offer the project to buyers next week, meaning broadcasters and streamers can bid to become its home.

The show reimagines One Thousand and One Nights, the collection of Middle Eastern and South Asian folk tales, as one interconnected saga. Think team-up, not anthology. Per the series logline, Shahrazad must join forces with Sinbad, Aladdin and Ali Baba to save the world from an evil sorcerer leading the Jinn, dark spirits from another dimension.

The creative team connects the project to two established screen sagas. Series creator Kamran Pasha is working with Spartacus creator Steven S. DeKnight on the pilot script and the series overview. A pilot script is the trial episode that is often used to sell or launch a show. The series is billed as coming from the creatives behind Spartacus and Vikings.

It hails from Veritas Entertainment, the Los Angeles-based production company behind A Complete Unknown. Pasha and DeKnight will serve as executive producers, the senior figures who oversee the creative direction and the business deal, alongside Peter Jaysen, Alan Gasmer, Aaron Shershow and Clive Standen. Andy Cutler is also producing the series for Veritas.

Bahrain is central to the physical plan. Filming is planned for September in the kingdom, with production support from Bahrain, Variety reports. A 10-episode fantasy of this type normally requires large crews, built sets and extended location work, which makes that early support an important piece of the schedule.

What makes this stand out is the storytelling shape. These are favourite characters who are usually met in separate tales. Here they are organised into a single serialised quest, with one shared threat and one team asked to stop it.

For viewers, this means no channel to check yet. If a buyer picks up the show next week, the ambition stretches well beyond a single run, as Veritas hopes the story will unfold across multiple seasons.
