Yemen's Houthis fired multiple missiles at the area around the al-Maashiq presidential palace complex in Aden on Thursday, October 15, 2026. Two bodyguards of the Yemeni prime minister were killed in the attack, while the government said the prime minister and other officials are safe. Reuters

Aden is a southern city in Yemen. Yemeni Information Minister Moammar al-Eryani said on Thursday that five missiles targeted the palace. The al-Maashiq palace is considered the headquarters and seat of power for the Saudi-backed, internationally recognised government of Yemen. Al Jazeera

On the same day, the Saudi-led military coalition in Yemen said the Houthis had attempted to attack dozens of Saudi airports. The coalition says Houthi attacks have killed 17 people and injured more than 300. It says Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport has come under at least 20 Houthi attacks over the past 11 days. Coalition spokesperson Maj. Gen. Turki al-Maliki released footage showing strikes on the main airport during a news conference in Riyadh. Al-Maliki accused the Houthis of obtaining ballistic missiles from other countries in the region.

Fighting between the Houthis and Saudi-backed forces intensified in Taiz, which is effectively under siege by the Houthis. Forces allied with the Yemeni government said they are repelling a Houthi attack on Dhubab airport. The pro-government Homeland Shield Force said it, along with the Southern Giants Brigades, is securing the airport in Dhubab in Taiz governorate. Yemen's Ministry of Public Health warned on Sunday of a humanitarian catastrophe in Taiz.
