U2 release 'The Greatest Show on Earth' and confirm 2027 world tour

U2 have released “The Greatest Show on Earth,” the latest single from their upcoming album Carnaval de Luz. The band confirmed the release on 15 October 2026, alongside plans for a 2027 world tour named after the song. The album is due out on 13 November, Rolling Stone reported.
The Greatest Show On Earth World Tour will kick off in Mexico City on 23 February 2027, according to the band’s announcement on U2.com. The opening leg also includes dates in São Paulo and Buenos Aires after Mexico City. Beck will provide support for the Mexico City opener.
Presales for the Mexico City, São Paulo and Buenos Aires dates were set to start from Monday following the announcement. Further tour dates and ticketing details are expected from the promoter in due course. The Mexico City date is the first confirmed stop of the world tour.
The single arrives with a music video directed by Anton Corbijn. It was filmed in the California desert. Bono has described “The Greatest Show on Earth” as his favourite song on the new album.
Carnaval de Luz will be U2’s first studio album in nine years. It is the band’s 16th LP, meaning a full-length studio album.
The record is a collection of 12 songs exploring themes of spirituality, friendship, freedom and endurance. It features a performance by Dolly Parton, Billboard reported. Two other songs, “Silencio” and “Street of Dreams,” have already been released as singles from the album.
For fans, this means three songs are now public ahead of the November release. Then comes the wait for the full track list, the live set and the road to February.
