Tilly Lucas-Rodd will become the first GWS player to reach 100 games in the AFLW when the Giants host Hawthorn at Henson Park in Round 10. The milestone lands in Pride Round. It comes against their former club.

The Giants confirmed the match-up for the Pride Round fixture, with Lucas-Rodd to bring up the hundred against the Hawks in Sydney's inner west GWS Giants. Pride Round is the league's annual celebration of LGBTQIA+ players, fans and community. The AFLW is the national women's Australian rules competition, now in its tenth season.

Lucas-Rodd is non-binary and plays for GWS after moving from Hawthorn ahead of the 2026 season ABC Sport. They were an inaugural Carlton player in 2017, then played for St Kilda from 2020 to 2022 and Hawthorn from 2022 to 2025 before joining the Giants. They entered the 2026 season with 90 games of AFLW experience.

The move north followed a trade request in the 2025 AFLW Trade Period, the league's window for players to change clubs. Lucas-Rodd captained Hawthorn before the exit. They told AFL.com.au in June that not feeling valued at Hawthorn going forward prompted the switch to Sydney AFL.com.au.

Pride Round gives the hundredth extra weight. Lucas-Rodd told ABC Sport the round remains important to celebrate while harmful attitudes toward queer people persist. They said acceptance was going backwards, with more discrimination, homophobia and transphobia. Joy counts here. They said joy, pride and celebration can be used as a form of resistance to discrimination.

Lucas-Rodd publicly disclosed having gender-affirming chest surgery in an exclusive interview with ABC Sport in 2025. They described surgery involving removal of breast tissue, essentially a double mastectomy. Medical details were shared by Lucas-Rodd in that interview.

The Giants marked the build-up with a video interview titled 'Lucas-Rodd Talks Milestone Game' on October 12. The club later locked in its Pride Round squad for the Hawthorn clash.

For supporters heading to Henson Park, this is a rare double. A hundred games takes most players the best part of a decade in a short-season league. To do it in Pride Round, against an old side, gives the day its shape.
