Maslany, Shalhoub and Turturro to Star in Broadway Revival of 'Rhinoceros'

Tatiana Maslany, Tony Shalhoub and John Turturro will star in a Broadway revival of Rhinoceros next spring.
Roundabout Theatre Company announced the production, which will be directed by Diane Paulus. It is set for Roundabout's Todd Haimes Theatre, according to Deadline.
The run has fixed dates. Previews begin April 7, 2027. Opening night is April 25, 2027. The closing date is June 13, 2027.
That makes it a limited engagement, meaning it has a set closing date rather than an open-ended run. Eight shows a week. Then out.
Maslany will play Daisy. Shalhoub will play Jean. Turturro will play Berenger, the office worker at the center of the story.
The play was written by Eugene Ionesco. It was last seen on Broadway in 1961. This is the first Ionesco play Roundabout has staged.
The Paulus production started at the American Repertory Theater at Harvard University, where Paulus previously led the company. Maslany and Turturro both appeared in that staging and will reprise their performances on Broadway, Playbill reported. Roundabout notes that the earlier cast also included Paul Giamatti, according to the Roundabout Theatre Company.
Rhinoceros replaces a previously announced spring revival of The Full Monty in Roundabout's Broadway season. That musical was postponed because of cast availability.
What makes this stand out is the gap. More than six decades off Broadway. Now it returns with three familiar screen and stage names and a short spring window.
