A man has been jailed for four years for burgling the home of former world snooker champion Kyren Wilson.

Kane Lee, 28, of Albert Road, Luton, admitted breaking into Wilson’s four-bedroom detached house in Barton Seagrave, near Kettering, on 22 June. He changed his plea to guilty at Northampton Crown Court after initially denying the charge, BBC reported.

The house was empty at the time. Lee arrived after 11:00 BST and left in the same vehicle. He smashed an upstairs window to get inside.

Lee had driven from Luton to Kettering in a car fitted with cloned number plates. He had picked up tools and clothing from B&Q and Tesco to use in the break-in.

What he took included high-value jewellery, luxury watches, designer handbags and cash. Among the cash was £2,000 set aside as a donation to BeMoreFab Children’s Cancer Charity.

Wilson, who won the world title in Sheffield in 2024, had hosted an exhibition event in Corby to raise money for the charity. He was playing in a snooker event in Leicester when the burglary happened, according to an earlier BBC report.

The court also ordered Lee to pay a £228 surcharge at sentencing.

The Northamptonshire Telegraph reported the theft was valued at £250,000 and included Rolex and Cartier watches. Its report on the sentencing was published on 15 October 2026, Northamptonshire Telegraph said.

Lee’s case had been working through the courts since the summer. A judge set a trial date in August after he was accused of the burglary.

That denial did not hold. The guilty plea spared a trial. The sentence closes a case that took cash meant for sick children as well as valuables from a player’s home.
