Sean Combs, 56, has been transferred from Fort Dix in New Jersey to FCI Allenwood Low in Pennsylvania.

The US Bureau of Prisons confirmed his current location at the low-security federal prison to Rolling Stone, which reported the move on 16 October 2026. The Bureau gave no official reason for the transfer.

He had been serving a 50-month sentence at Fort Dix after conviction on charges of transportation to engage in prostitution. That term amounts to just over four years. His legal team had sought placement at Fort Dix because its residential drug rehabilitation programme could reduce an inmate's sentence by a year.

The move follows reports of repeated rule breaches at Fort Dix. Prison staff allegedly found Hennessy liquor, antidepressant pills, an unlocked tablet and a mobile phone in his possession. He allegedly used the phone to scroll Instagram and view nude photos sent by an ex-girlfriend.

He was reportedly placed in solitary confinement, isolation from other inmates used as punishment, after the finds. TMZ, which also reported the transfer on 16 October 2026, said he had accumulated multiple violations at Fort Dix. It reported he lost 41 days of good time credit, the reduction in a sentence given for good behaviour, and 400 days of commissary privileges, the right to buy extra food and personal items from the prison shop.

His projected release date was pushed back to March 2028 after the contraband reports.

Over the weekend before the transfer became public, Combs suffered a non-life-threatening head injury and was treated at a nearby hospital. Some reports linked the injury to a fight with a prominent drug kingpin. The Bureau of Prisons said that account was false and did not happen.

Spokesperson Juda Engelmayer said the family had not yet received official confirmation of any move.

Combs was sentenced to more than four years in early October, with family members leaving the New York City court on 3 October. A US judge later rejected his bid to overturn the conviction on felony prostitution-related charges, according to Reuters. He had pleaded not guilty to all charges and was expected to appeal.
