LVMH throws open 71 doors for public craft weekend

LVMH, the French luxury group behind Louis Vuitton, Dior and Tiffany & Co., threw open 71 sites around the world for three days of public visits. The sixth edition of Les Journées Particulières, the group's open-doors weekend, runs from 16 to 18 October 2026. It returned after a four-year hiatus, according to WWD.
The 2026 programme involves 45 Maisons, the group's word for its houses and brands, opening workshops, studios and stores for three days. The route stretches from Paris to Shanghai via Tokyo, Rome and New York, LVMH said in its opening-day update. The theme is "Racines du Rêve", presented in English as the "Source of Dreams".
Launch events in Paris and Shanghai came first. In Paris, Antoine Arnault, LVMH director of image and environment, hosted the opening party. The weekend began with the LVMH Virtuosos ceremony at La Samaritaine, the group's department store in Paris, honouring artisans for excellence in craft.
The 2026 class counts 69 artisans. Each received a jewellery box holding a special pin designed by Maison Fred, the group's jewellery house. The ceremony set the tone: skilled hands first, logos second.
The last edition drew 200,000 visitors. Some venues in 2026 were accessible by reservation, so visitors needed to book ahead for popular stops.
What makes this stand out is access. For visitors, this means a chance to watch cutters, seamstresses, leather workers and jewellers at work, and to ask how things are made. No runway. No front row. Just the workrooms where luxury starts.
