Cineverse Picks Up Ralph's Perfekt Christmas for November Home Release

Cineverse has acquired North American video-on-demand and streaming rights to Ralph's Perfekt Christmas, with release planned for November on demand and on its Screambox service, Deadline reported. VOD is video on demand, where viewers rent or buy a single title to watch at home. Streaming covers viewing through a subscription platform. The deal covers North America.
Tom McLaren stars as Ralph, Deadline reported. The announced cast also includes Charlie Schlatter, Jill Schoelen, Casey Burke, Landon Gimenez and Lynda Day George. That is five additional principal names alongside McLaren. The announcement puts McLaren at the centre of the title role.
The film is the debut feature from Next Chapter Entertainment, the production banner run by Mary McLaren and Tom McLaren, Deadline reported. A banner is the company name filmmakers use to organise their work. The pair produced the picture and served as supervising directors, overseeing creative direction. Matthew Bellamy served as director of physical production, the role that manages day-to-day logistics of a shoot, from crew and schedule to budget controls.
The screenplay was written by Jeremy Padow and Tom McLaren, Deadline reported. A screenplay is the script that sets dialogue, action and structure before filming begins. Mary McLaren brings prior studio experience to the independent project. She previously served as Chief Operating Officer for International Theatrical and Worldwide Home Entertainment at Twentieth Century Fox, where cinema releases outside the home market and films sold for home viewing were handled.
On the distribution side, Dan Fisher is vice president of acquisitions at Cineverse, Deadline reported. Acquisitions executives find finished films and negotiate rights to release them. Cineverse finalised this North America deal for on-demand and streaming. Screambox is the company's streaming service, and the announced programme places the film there in November.
The filmmakers characterise the project as a dark comedy, according to the film's official site. The site also points to a mix of dark humour, drama and thrilling horror elements. A post on the film's Facebook page had earlier pointed to a fourth-quarter 2026 arrival. The November plan fits that window.
Background materials on the film's Facebook page note a world premiere screening at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival. Festivals often act as a first public outing before commercial release. For fans, this means a short wait. The announced plan is for home viewing, first as a paid rental or purchase and within the Screambox library, a favourite period for seasonal viewing.
