Will Josh Frydenberg try to win back Kooyong?

Former treasurer Josh Frydenberg has again raised the possibility of a return to frontline politics.
He made the comments on the ABC's 7.30 program. As of 13 October, he had not decided whether to re-contest and stopped short of ruling out a comeback.
The prospect is now the subject of the Guardian's Back to Back Barries video, which asks whether Frydenberg should seek to regain the seat of Kooyong The Guardian. The ousted member for Kooyong lost the seat to independent Monique Ryan in 2022.
The video features Tony Barry alongside Niki Savva, who filled in for Barrie Cassidy. Both Barry and Savva are former Liberal party advisers.
It discusses Frydenberg's round of media interviews to promote his new memoir, described as a "festival of Josh". It debates a potential Kooyong run and links that prospect to his ambition to one day become prime minister.
The discussion also turns to Anthony Albanese and his selling of an economic vision during a cost-of-living crisis, and what that means for the Labor government.
Frydenberg has said he had been "very content" since losing Kooyong ABC News. Federal Liberals gave a lukewarm response to news he was considering a return.
Talk around parliament, reported by the Guardian, is that Frydenberg has been privately telling people he is unlikely to seek a return to parliament The Guardian.
