Tasmanian senator Jacqui Lambie has criticised a One Nation cartoon that mocked her experience with vaginal prolapse. The Guardian

The cartoon is part of Pauline Hanson’s Please Explain series and took aim at the Albanese government’s Digital Duty of Care online safety legislation. It depicts Lambie saying “I can't laugh because of my prolapsed vagina” followed by a crude sound effect ridiculing the condition.

Lambie had spoken about her own prolapse in an emotional Senate address in August. In that speech she also raised lack of access to care for female veterans.

Responding to the cartoon, Lambie said voters struggling in a cost-of-living crisis did not need more “nastiness”. She told ABC’s RN that men in One Nation should ask Hanson to remove the cartoon immediately. Of Hanson, she said “decent leaders don't stir up hatred, pushing us towards bloody anarchy”.

Monique Ryan said “One Jacqui Lambie is worth 1,000 Pauline Hansons” in response to the cartoon. The same cartoon portrays Liberal MP and former special forces soldier Andrew Hastie as a “traitor”.

Hastie has asked One Nation to remove its video that repeatedly describes him in those terms. Lambie said she supported his request. ABC RN Breakfast
