Hannah Waddingham to Receive TV Advocacy Honour at 2026 WIF Honors

Hannah Waddingham will receive the Crystal Award for Advocacy in TV at the 2026 WIF Honors.
The annual benefit gala for Women in Film, the Los Angeles-based organisation that supports women working in screen industries, will be held on Nov. 5 at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, as reported by Variety.
Waddingham is best known to global audiences for playing Rebecca Welton in the football comedy Ted Lasso. The Crystal Award for Advocacy in TV recognises screen work paired with public advocacy. Details of her citation have not yet been released.
She is one of six honourees on this year's slate. Gemma Chan and director Beth de Araújo will jointly receive the Crystal Award for Advocacy in Film for their collaboration on Josephine. Actor Emmy Rossum will present that award.
The other honours span film leadership, rising talent and humanitarian work. Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group co-chair and chief executive Pamela Abdy will receive the Vanguard Award. It will be presented by writer and director Nancy Meyers.
Actor Adria Arjona will receive the WIF Max Mara Face of the Future Award, presented by Maria Giulia Prezioso Maramotti. Actor and producer Salma Hayek Pinault will receive the Jane Fonda Humanitarian Award. Fonda herself will present it.
This year's benefit gala is co-chaired by producer Victoria Alonso and Andrea Nelson Meigs, according to Variety. A benefit gala here means ticket sales and sponsorships go back into the charity's programmes, from mentoring to legal support.
What makes this line-up stand out is the presenter list. Rossum, Meyers, Maramotti and Fonda each hand over one prize in person. For viewers, that usually means a short speech, a clip reel, and a room full of working actors, directors and executives.
