Sony Pictures Television has appointed Lauren Glaubach to lead its work with digital and social platforms.

Glaubach becomes executive vice-president, Distribution, Digital and Social Platforms, a newly created senior post at the studio, Deadline reported on 19 October 2026. Distribution in this context means selling programmes and channels to other outlets. Her arrival adds a dedicated executive for YouTube, social feeds and other online homes.

She will report to Jason Spivak and Paul Littmann, presidents of Distribution & Networks at Sony Pictures Television. Spivak and Littmann head the division that handles those sales and network relationships. They take the lead as co-president Mike Wald prepares to retire at year-end after 32 years with the company.

Glaubach joins Sony from Pinterest, where she served as vice-president, head of global content partnerships. That role centred on deals with publishers, brands and creators who post on the platform. It places someone steeped in platform deals inside a studio sales team.

Before Pinterest, she spent more than a decade at YouTube. Her most recent title there was director, global head of kids and family content partnerships and programming. Programming here means deciding what is commissioned, ordered and scheduled. During that tenure she managed a partner portfolio of more than 500 channels.

Earlier in her career, Glaubach held strategy, brand management and marketing roles at The Walt Disney Company and BloomSpot. She earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.A. from Princeton University. The career path runs from brand work to platform partnerships to studio distribution.

Sony pointed to three recent digital projects as context for the new role. They include Jeopardy! YouTube Edition Volume 2, the launch of Reading Rainbow on YouTube, and a partnership with Professor Brian Cox for premium original digital content. Each project takes a familiar television property or presenter into an online-first format.

What makes this stand out is the shape of the job. It is not a straight replacement. It is a new brief that joins traditional sales with growth on social and free streaming outlets. For viewers, that is about where familiar shows appear next.
