Tim McGraw, Paul Overstreet and Stanley Brothers join Country Music Hall of Fame

Tim McGraw, songwriter Paul Overstreet and the Stanley Brothers are now members of the Country Music Hall of Fame.
The three acts were inducted on Oct. 18 during the 31st Medallion Ceremony at the Hall of Fame's CMA Theater in Nashville. They become the 159th, 160th and 161st members of the Hall, and together form the Class of 2026, according to Billboard.
The ceremony is invitation-only and takes place inside the museum. It mixes short speeches with live performances of songs linked to each new member.
The Stanley Brothers, Carter Stanley and Ralph Stanley, entered in the veteran era artist category, which covers older acts whose careers shaped the genre decades ago. Overstreet entered in the songwriter category.
Their music got full treatment on the night. Billy Strings performed "How Mountain Girls Can Love" for the Stanley Brothers. Vince Gill and Ricky Skaggs followed with "Rank Stranger."
The First Ladies of Bluegrass then played "Bound to Ride." The group brings together five players: Alison Brown, Missy Raines, Becky Buller, Sierra Hull and Molly Tuttle.
The evening also featured performances by Blake Shelton and Lainey Wilson, according to The Tennessean.
Gill formally inducted the Stanley Brothers. Neither brother was alive to accept. Ralph Stanley II, Ralph Stanley's daughter Lisa, and Carter Stanley's daughter Jeanie accepted the honour on their behalf.
The room held past members and Nashville writers. Vince Gill, Randy Travis, Randy Owen, Ricky Skaggs and Dean Dillon were among those who attended.
What makes this stand out is the spread across country history. One induction honoured a bluegrass brother duo from an earlier generation, one honoured a writer behind other people's hits, and one honoured a modern touring headliner. All three now sit in the same Hall.
