Former A24 documentary chief Nicole Stott joins Magna Studios

Former A24 documentary chief Nicole Stott has joined Magna Studios as an executive producer in non-fiction, meaning documentaries and factual programmes.
The appointment was reported by Deadline on 20 October 2026. Stott will sit in Magna's non-fiction division, which develops and makes factual titles for broadcasters and streamers.
There she will work across documentary features and limited series, meaning single films and multi-episode stories told in a set number of parts. She will collaborate with SVP, Non-Fiction Oliver Calleja and Creative Director Louis Mole on the slate.
Stott led A24's documentary division before the company shuttered the unit. At A24 she worked on titles including The Yogurt Shop Murders and Nuisance Bear, a Sundance Grand Jury Prize winner.
That division also produced Look Into My Eyes, The Last of the Sea Women and The Sixth, according to Variety. A24 laid off five staff from its documentary branch in May 2025, including head of documentary production Emily Osborne.
Before A24, Stott was co-head of non-fiction at Concordia Studio. Earlier, she headed documentaries at London's Passion Pictures for a decade.
Magna Studios is run by former Pulse Films executives Marisa Clifford and Davud Karbassioun. It is owned by Lumina Media, a company founded by Pulse founder Thomas Benski.
The company is best known recently for Oasis: Don't Look Back in Anger for Disney+. Its credits also include Sky's The Pembrokeshire Murders. It is making an upcoming Lily Allen feature for Prime Video.
What makes this stand out is fit. Stott brings a record in festival-level features and true-crime series. Magna brings music films and factual drama. For viewers, that combination points to more big-name documentary films and short runs built for streaming.
