Brad Pauls will not fight on 13 November after his planned bout was cancelled.

The 33-year-old from Newquay confirmed the news on social media. "I'm absolutely gutted," he wrote, according to BBC Sport.

Pauls is a former British and IBF International middleweight champion. Middleweight is capped at 160lb, one of boxing's classic divisions.

He is now hunting for a new date before the end of the year. Pauls said he is looking at dates a couple of weeks into December and will announce them soon.

That would give him a quick reset before what he says is already in the diary. Pauls said he has a bigger fight lined up for around February on the big stage.

It has been a bruising run for the Cornishman. He lost his IBF International belt, a secondary title below world level, to Bradley Goldsmith in June. That was his most recent fight.

Three months earlier he had produced one of the results of his career. Pauls knocked out Shakiel Thompson in March to bounce back in style.

His record now stands at 25 professional fights with three defeats and one draw.

Pauls knows the highs and lows of title boxing well. He won the British title, the famous Lonsdale belt, in July 2024 when he stopped Nathan Heaney in a rematch. Their first meeting four months earlier had ended in a draw.

He then stepped up for the European title in December 2024 but lost to Denzel Bentley.

For fans, this means a short wait rather than a long layoff. A December outing would shake off the rust from the June defeat and keep him sharp for February.
