The fourth woman to give evidence against Russell Brand told a London court that four other people were present when he allegedly assaulted her at a radio station in the mid-2000s.

The woman, referred to in court as Complainant 4, gave evidence from behind a screen at Southwark Crown Court. That screen shields a witness from public view. She has a lifelong right to anonymity, meaning she cannot be identified, according to reporting published on 20 October by Deadline.

She alleged that Brand grabbed her face and pushed his body against hers while walking her backwards. She said he then touched her bum and breast and pinned her against a wall. She told the court she pushed him off and told him to “f*** off”.

Complainant 4 said Brand was with one woman and three men at the time and they did nothing to intervene. She said Brand made a haha-like sound after she pushed him away, and one of the men laughed. She said she was left feeling dirty, shocked, stunned and shaken.

She told the court she gains nothing from giving evidence. She said she came forward after watching up to 10 minutes of a 2023 Channel 4 documentary about Brand. All six women in the case say they came forward after becoming aware of that documentary, and the prosecution has told the jury that the accusers do not know each other.

Brand, a comedian and actor, denies all the charges and has pleaded not guilty. He faces three charges of rape, three counts of sexual assault and one count of indecent assault relating to allegations by six women, as reported by Deadline.

The court has heard that Brand declined to answer police questions in interview. He instead relied on a prepared statement in which he said he did not recall meeting the women or remember their names, and that any sexual contact was consensual.

The trial is taking place at Southwark Crown Court in London. Prosecutors have alleged that Brand was a ruthless sexual predator who raped or abused six women, according to Reuters. Those are allegations. The jury must decide whether they are proved.
