Amy Poehler, Monica Lewinsky and Khloé Kardashian have taken gold at the fifth annual Signal Awards honouring podcasts.

“Good Hang With Amy Poehler,” “Reclaiming With Monica Lewinsky” and “Khloé in Wonder Land” are among the dozens of shows to receive a gold medal this year, according to Variety. The awards are now in their fifth year.

The Signal Awards hands out gold, silver and bronze in each category. Winners are picked in two ways: by a panel of judges, or by listeners’ choice voting open to the public.

Poehler scored twice in one category. “Good Hang With Amy Poehler” won gold and listeners’ choice for best host. It is a double win, meaning judges and voters agreed.

In video podcasting, meaning shows also filmed for viewing, gold went to “All There Is With Anderson Cooper.” Other top prizes went to “Served With Andy Roddick,” “The Mel Robbins Podcast,” “Artist Friendly With Joel Madden” and “Angie Martinez IRL.”

Listeners had a say too. More than 94,000 unique voters cast 260,000 votes for this year’s listeners’ choice prizes.

Two special honours were also announced. “Criminal” host and co-creator Phoebe Judge will receive the Audio Icon Award. Pablo Torre, host and executive editor of “Pablo Torre Finds Out,” will receive the Special Achievement Award.

On the company side, iHeartPodcasts was named company of the year. Ruby Studios, part of iHeartMedia, was recognised as agency of the year.

What makes this stand out is the mix. Big celebrity-fronted shows sit beside long-running independents and sports titles on the same winners list.

For fans, this means a watchlist. The honours will be presented at the Signal Awards Winners Party on 9 Nov in Brooklyn, New York.
