Prince Harry says he wants to reconcile with his father King Charles and his brother Prince William. He wants to work it out and make peace.

He made the remarks in an interview with GQ, according to Variety. The interview, published on 20 October 2026, was his first major interview since returning to the U.K. with his family earlier in the summer.

Harry moved back to Britain with his wife Meghan Markle and their two children after six years living in California. The move was revealed in August. It closed a long chapter in which the family had been based in the United States.

That return followed a long stretch apart. As of early September 2025, Harry had not seen Charles since February 2024, Reuters reported. In May 2025, Harry said Charles would not speak to him.

In that same May interview he said, "Life is precious. I don't know how much longer my father has," according to Reuters. He also said then that he would love a reconciliation and that he did not want to fight anymore. Days later, the distance narrowed. Harry met Charles for tea, BBC News reported on 11 September 2025.

Harry has used similar language before. In January 2023 he said, "I would like to get my father back; I would like to have my brother back," Reuters reported. Speaking around the same time, he said he wanted "a family, not an institution," according to PBS. He repeated the call for reconciliation in an emotional interview with BBC News in August 2026.

What sets this latest interview apart is location. Harry is speaking from Britain, not California. The words are familiar. The address has changed.
