Paley Center adds Ellison, Lynch, McCormick and Winfrey to board

Four bosses from television, toys, tech and cable are joining the board that steers the Paley Center for Media.
Skydance chairman and chief executive David Ellison, Mattel chairman and CEO Roger Lynch, Meta president and vice chairman Dina Powell McCormick and Charter Communications president and CEO Chris Winfrey have all been appointed to its Board of Trustees, the group that governs the organisation. The appointments were announced by Paley Center president and CEO Maureen J. Reidy, as reported by Variety on 20 October 2026.
Ellison runs Skydance, the studio behind film and television production. Lynch has just taken the top jobs at Mattel, Inc., moving from media into the toy business. Both bring a mix of programming and business experience to the trustee table.
McCormick serves as president and vice chairman of Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. Winfrey leads Charter Communications, the cable and broadband operator behind Spectrum. Their appointments add tech platform and pay-TV heft to the board.
There is also a new name in Los Angeles. Recording Academy and MusiCares CEO Harvey Mason Jr. has been tapped to join the Paley Center's Los Angeles Board of Governors, its West Coast leadership group.
The board is chaired by Frank A. Bennack, Jr. Reidy announced all five appointments together.
What makes this stand out is the spread. One slate covers a studio chief, a toy maker, a social media executive, a cable chief and a music chief. For viewers, that mix decides which stories get preserved, screened and discussed next.
