Apple Corps will turn The Beatles Story in Liverpool into a 100,000-square-foot attraction opening in 2028. The museum will leave its current home at Albert Dock for the former St Johns Market site in St Johns Shopping Centre, opposite Liverpool Lime Street station, Billboard.

Apple Corps, the company that looks after the band's business and rights, will take over running The Beatles Story at Albert Dock before the move. The new site will more than quadruple its current footprint.

It will be big. The rebuilt attraction will combine immersive technology and original artefacts to trace the band's path from postwar Liverpool and Hamburg through Beatlemania to international stardom.

Visitors will be able to step inside recreations of the Cavern Club in Liverpool, Shea Stadium in New York and Abbey Road Studios in London. The displays will also incorporate props and sets from Sam Mendes' four-film production about the band.

Sony Pictures is scheduled to release that project, titled The Beatles: A Four-Film Cinematic Event, in cinemas worldwide in April 2028. Sony Pictures will finance the films, which are planned for full theatrical windows, The Beatles.

The Liverpool plan includes a "Yellow Submarine"-themed viewing experience on top of St. John's Beacon, Liverpool's second-tallest building. That attraction will operate separately from the museum and offer panoramic 360-degree views across the city, with combined tickets available for visitors who want to do both.

The Liverpool site will be Apple Corps' second permanent fan experience. The first is a planned destination at Savile Row in London, due to open at the end of next year, which is set to hold seven floors of never-seen-before material from the company's archives, The Beatles.

Every ticket sold to The Beatles Story will contribute to the Apple Corps Liverpool Trust. Apple Corps calls the project "The Beatles: Liverpool 2028" and invites fans to leave contact details on its website for updates and ticket on-sale alerts, Apple Corps.

For fans, this means one trip could cover the small clubs, the huge stadiums and the studio, then finish with a view over the city where it started.
