Olivia Colman, Alexander Skarsgård and Elizabeth Debicki walked the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of Wicker, held at the DGA Theater on October 20, 2026. The film opens in U.S. theaters on October 23, according to Deadline, which published its photo gallery from the event.

Bill Skarsgård also attended alongside his brother Alexander. They were joined by producers Tim Headington, Justin Lothrop and Brad Zimmerman, and by the film's writers and directors, Eleanor Wilson and Alex Huston Fischer. Wilson and Fischer adapted Wicker from the short story "The Wicker Husband" by Ursula Wills.

The story follows an ostracised fisherwoman, played by Colman, who commissions a wicker husband from a local basketmaker. Peter Dinklage plays the basketmaker. Alexander Skarsgård plays the wicker husband himself. The character was realised through a fully practical suit, meaning a physical costume worn on set rather than one added later with computer effects. Joe Dunckley and Wētā Workshop built it.

Behind the camera, Lol Crawley shot the film, Renátó Cseh designed the production, and Anna Meredith wrote the score.

The film has been on the festival and event circuit for some time. Deadline's studio gallery from the Sundance Film Festival in January 2026 included the Wicker cast, with Colman, Skarsgård, Dinklage and Debicki attending. Vanity Fair reported on a New York premiere, with Colman, Skarsgård and the rest of the cast in attendance. Black Bear Pictures, the company behind the film's marketing, posted a first-look video on Facebook on October 17 featuring Colman, Skarsgård and Debicki. In a separate interview, Wilson and Fischer discussed how they set out to create the man-made wicker husband, a concept that AwardsWatch explored with them.

For a film built around one hand-made character, the decision to use a physical suit is the detail that stands out most. Audiences will see the result on screens from Friday, when the film goes wide in the United States and Canada, a market that studios call domestic.

The Los Angeles premiere marks one more step in a campaign that has run from festival stages to first-look videos, and the release date is now fixed. Wicker's first public screenings in U.S. theaters begin on October 23.
