Noel Clarke Pleads Not Guilty to Sexual Offence Charges

Noel Clarke, the British actor best known for playing Mickey Smith in Doctor Who, has pleaded not guilty to a series of sexual offences. Deadline reported the plea on 21 October 2026.
Clarke appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court in London in October and denied all of the charges against him. Magistrates' courts handle the first stage of criminal cases, including the decision on where a case will be tried.
The charges were first made public in September. London's Metropolitan Police said he had been charged with two counts of sexual assault, three counts of voyeurism and one count of exposure. Voyeurism, in England and Wales, means watching or recording someone in a private moment without their consent. Exposure means intentionally showing one's genitals to cause alarm or distress. The force published its news release on 9 September 2026.
Deadline reports that the alleged offences took place between 2007 and 2016 and involve five women. Detectives had investigated the case for about a year before arresting Clarke on 25 September 2025.
Clarke also created Kidulthood, the low-budget British film about teenagers in London that became a cult hit after its release in 2006. His last series on UK television was ITV's Viewpoint in 2021, according to Deadline.
His next court date is set for 18 November at Southwark Crown Court, the court that hears serious criminal cases with a judge and jury. Deadline cites BBC News for that date.
Clarke has entered a not guilty plea, which means the charges are allegations that have yet to be tested in court. The case now moves forward to that next hearing.
