Prague's AI piano teacher app Artie raises $2.4 million

ArtMaster, the Prague company behind the AI piano app Artie, has raised a USD $2.4 million seed round. A seed round is an early funding round, often the first large outside investment a young company takes. Music Business Worldwide reported the deal on 21 October 2026.

The new investors include Factorial Capital, Reflex Capital and Moises, an AI music platform. Individual backers include Nir Zicherman, co-founder of the podcast platform Anchor, Grant Davis, founder of the AI creative tool Wand, and Eliška Vorel, a senior product manager for Gemini at Google DeepMind. Matt Hartman, the founder of Factorial Capital, previously worked as a partner at Betaworks Ventures.

Earlier supporters include Robert Kyncl, chief executive of Warner Music Group, and Jaroslav Beck, a co-founder of Beat Games. Gi21 Capital and Purple Ventures also back the company.

Artie is an AI piano teacher. ArtMaster's product page describes it as an app that listens, adapts to the learner and gives real-time feedback. For now it works only on piano and only on iOS. The company's roadmap includes guitar, other instruments and an Android version.

The App Store listing promises a personal learning plan, a practice streak of 10 minutes on three days a week, and rewards unlocked after eight weeks. ArtMaster says Artie has more than 500,000 users and has drawn over 100 million views on social media within a year. The top 10% of users, the company says, average sessions of 36 minutes.

Money is the part the company has measured in percentages. ArtMaster says paying subscribers have grown 38% month over month since October 2025. Monthly recurring revenue, the subscription income a business expects to bring in each month, has grown 39% over the same stretch. The company has not released subscriber or revenue totals, so those growth rates cannot yet be turned into dollar figures.

The business has been building for some time. ArtMaster started in 2018 as a music school in Prague. The company says Radim Vysoký co-founded it with Michal Novák. In March 2025, Vestbee and AIN reported a funding round of more than €800,000, the company's third at that point.

For a learner practising scales at a kitchen table, the pitch is simple: a teacher that is always available and never runs out of patience. Whether that model holds as the company adds instruments and platforms will show up in the numbers it chooses to publish next.
