Greenwich Entertainment has acquired North American distribution rights to Spin Wars, a documentary about the boutique fitness industry, and plans to release it in December 2026, Deadline reported on 21 October.

Distribution rights are the permission to sell and release a film in a set area. North American means the United States and Canada. Greenwich, an independent company, handles narrative and documentary features, so the deal puts Spin Wars in its hands for those two countries.

The film follows the stories of SoulCycle, Flywheel and Peloton, three names that helped turn studio-style indoor cycling into a business. It comes from Feed the Animals and Fulwell Entertainment, and was written by Philip Byron and James Thayer.

Byron is directing his first feature. He spent years on the non-scripted side of the business, working as head of unscripted and documentaries at LeBron James' The SpringHill Company. In October 2025, Deadline reported that Tom Brady's production company, Shadow Lion, had hired him as head of original content. He is based in Los Angeles. The Hollywood Reporter profiled him as the non-sports fan running the content side of Brady's company.

Spin Wars had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York and has recently played the Hamptons International Film Festival. Festivals are where many films first meet the buyers who decide which titles reach cinemas and streaming services, so the path from a festival screening to a distribution deal is a common one.

A December release puts the film into the end-of-year stretch, when studios and independent distributors often compete for audiences and awards attention. The deal terms, including any price paid, have not been made public so far.

For anyone who has ever clipped into a bike at a studio class, or watched those brands flash across a news feed, the film offers a look at how the business grew. Greenwich's release will be the first chance for North American audiences to see how the story is told on a cinema screen.
